SC’s Big Relief To Pawan Kheda: Rohini Court Orders Interim Bail

The Supreme Court has given relief to the Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera who was being arrested from Delhi airport.

The Supreme Court stated that when Pawan Kheda is produced before the magistrate, he should be granted interim bail. Along with this, on the request of Pawan Kheda’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

Further, the Apex Court issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh & Assam government before transferring the cases against Pawan Kheda in different states of the country to a single court.

In fact, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda is accused of pronouncing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name in a wrong and accusatory manner during a press briefing. Due to which the constitutional post has been insulted. Police registered charges against Pawan Kheda in Assam and Uttar Pradesh. The Assam Police issued a look out notice against Pawan Kheda in this regard. Pawan Kheda was going from Delhi to Raipur by Indigo flight on Friday morning. The police arrested him after getting him off the plane. After this, Congress workers started protesting at the airport itself.

As soon as the bench sat at 3 pm, Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that whatever Pawan Kheda said, he did not say it intentionally. Not only this, he has also apologized for that. Despite this, the sections in which the charges were registered are not relevant. ASG Sushri Bhati, appearing for the Government of Assam, said that Pawan Khera has pronounced the Prime Minister’s name in a wrong perspective. His intention seems to be wrong. At the request of Ms. Bhati, the Supreme Court also viewed those video clips. After this, orders for interim bail were issued to the Magistrate Court.
